I would wear that snake bodysuit! I'd layer it under another top or a blazer, for sure. My "throw on" outfits tend to be dresses.
Nordies is a dangerous place! Whenever I'm in Vancouver, I like to go through it briefly just to see what's in season, and to have sticker-shock, ha ha. That's what you get for shopping secondhand.
I really kind of love that bodysuit. There’s another one that looks like a skeleton that I want to buy for Halloween.
I found it oddly peaceful to wander around Nordstrom in the middle of the day. It was almost empty and I liked just going around and filling up my visual and touch senses.
I had my own "go-to outfit" moment this morning when I was in a bit of a rush...I decided not to overthink it and just wore an outfit I've worn many times before (t-shirt with a pair of wide-leg trousers). Then, as I was leaving the house, I impulsively put on burgundy leather Oxfords (that matched my socks) instead of my usual off-white sneakers and suddenly it felt fresh. It seems like resorting to a "default" outfit frees up a little bit of space for spontaneity!
Oh I like that and I’m imagining how great those burgundy loafers looked. I agree starting with a kind of uniform allows us to play around with the extras and it can be endlessly creative.
This is fun! I esp loved that you chose AB's uniform because it's the most translatable into any wardrobe (e.g. not a specific silhouette or brand) so it feels fun to try while still dressing very much like oneself. I also very much appreciate that you dress for a very casual life/place (because me too!) while still being "in the know".
I’m so glad you like that I dress ultra casual because I almost never have anywhere to go that involves dressing up even a little bit. But I still love clothes so have to make some style work somehow. It’s definitely a challenge as is making sure I buy for my actual life and not a fantasy of what it might be.
And that is an interesting point about AB’s choice, that yes it’s more about the colors than any particular piece of clothing so it’s easy to interpret. I think I’m going to play around with it more for next week’s post.

I hope your ankle is feeling better, Sita!

So glad to have sparked something! And love how much you get from shopping (even looking ) IRL vs online. XX
Thank you for always being inspiring
