This is gonna be a short-ish newsletter because I’m in the middle of aggressive treatment for anemia and it’s freaking me out, so I don’t have a lot to say.
This past Friday I saw Frankenstein at the SF Ballet and it was great. The show and the people watching. The best outfits I saw weren’t on the prettiest women or the most trendy, but the ones who had dressed to suit their bodies and were wearing their clothes with confidence.
Here’s what I wore:

I was driving down the 101 in San Francisco today and I saw a brown wig in the middle of the highway, but it wasn’t squished down by cars, it was exuberant and the wind was teasing the long brown hairs. I imagined someone in a convertible, hair flying in the breeze, and whoosh, suddenly it blows off and lands in the road. But so many other things could have happened, maybe a person’s head got too warm and they threw it out the car window.
Glennon Doyle joined Substack for a week and then people got mad and she was run off, and a bunch of people wrote posts about it. The thing I find interesting is no one outside of Substack is writing about it. Substack seems to be its own world and we’re here fighting among ourselves but does anyone else care? I don’t know. I’m mostly here for the clothes. Okay, and the gossip.
Speaking of clothes I recently discovered cleowave and if you’re a Tibi fan and obsessed with Winslow pants like I am, it’s a dangerous thing. Should I even be telling you guys about this? I don’t want you buying the stuff that I like.
I think I’ve found my perfect ballet outfit. I’ve tried on a lot of leotards. A Lot. And I’ve noticed I’m more comfortable in something with short sleeves because I like the extra coverage. However it can get hot in the studio so having a top with a mesh sleeve that’s breathable really helps. My favorite one so far is from DellaLo Milano. I find their clothes to be quietly elegant and despite owning several leotards I wore this one twice last week:

I’m still on a white clothing kick and here are a few of the things I saw this week that I liked:

And here’s my white outfit from this week:

The other thing I’ve been noticing are raffia bags. I love all the interesting shapes and colors that come out at this time of year:

I bumped into my neighborhood friend Rachel last week and she was wearing the most beautiful pendant. Rachel always looks stylish when walking the streets of Westbrae while I’m usually wearing pajamas. I think the truth is that I love to look at clothes but I only want to get dressed about once a week. Anyway her pendant was made from an ancient coin that had been circled in gold and diamonds and she told me it was created by this woman
I then did some internet searching and found some amazing (and very expensive) ones on 1st Dibs but I LOVE the Pegasus motif in these:

I’ve been wondering if I should keep writing my newsletter. It’s not really growing probably because I’m terrible at networking and not very ambitious, or maybe because it’s not that great. But then I get messages or talk to friends and they tell me they really enjoy reading it and that makes me want to continue. I think it’s okay to be small and just please a few people. But if you do read it (because sometimes I see I have twice as many views as subscribers) please give it a like or consider subscribing with the button below:
And finally, if you’re still reading by now, I feel so seen by this article. It’s about Gen X and how cool we are.
Yours is one of my favorites, perhaps in part for the fact that it’s small and never feels forced or contrived. Hope you stick around.
Count me as a fan, Sita! 💕 I enjoy your posts!
Sweet sandals.💕
